Dear Friends and Colleagues,
As satisfying as it is to work on a massive project and help a company create change in their organization, there is a special magic in working with nonprofits. The passion I’ve seen working on these projects in unmatched, and it’s beautiful. To see the labors of love, and recognize that some of these projects even have the potential to change the world, is humbling and exciting. Let me explain…
Recently, we had the opportunity to partner with Rocketship Creative to work with a local organization that provides access to medical and mental health care for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people and those affected by HIV/AIDS. They needed help designing training based on a set of medical and therapeutic interventions developed to address major problems in today’s society. These interventions centered around helping individuals with an HIV diagnosis live healthier lives and deal with simultaneous trauma, addiction, or other issues surrounding gender-affirming care for transgender individuals living with HIV.
A primary strategy for this audience was clear, concise, and accessible language paired with an easy-to-navigate user interface.
To scale this information to all who needed it, the organization knew they wanted to develop an eLearning that could be accessed, for free, on the web. By choosing this modality, other organizations, clinics, and providers all over the country will be able to access information on how to implement these interventions, creating real change in their communities. Together, we developed 13 eLearning modules totaling 6 hours of training in total.
Partnering with this organization to develop these courses required our team at Skosh to really put ourselves in our audience’s shoes, strategizing how to make this information both easy to understand and immediately usable regardless of education level and medical knowledge. With careful scripting, a straightforward user experience, and an interactive video series, we were able to develop eLearning experiences that will educate and support organizations as they improve the lives of individuals in their communities.
Key activities to this training were practice opportunities where the learner could interact with and become more familiar with concepts.
Want to change the world? I want to help you. Give us a call.
